We have designed Treetop Hideaways to be as accessible as possible.

We added Gate House Lodge to our collection in spring 2023. This ground level lodge allows accessibility for all while providing a unique experience. Guests staying in Gate House Lodge have private access to a ground level sauna with panoramic views over the lake. This gives an alternative option to the outdoor bath tubs on the raised terraces of our treehouses and gives Gate House Lodge its ‘wow’ factor.

We have also made our treehouses as accessible as possible. They have double handrails on the stairs and terraces, open-plan living areas for maneuverability, non-slip mats underneath the rugs, non-slip bathmats, low farmhouse table and chairs as alternatives to our tall bar tables and stools.

We have car parking next to each treehouse for easy access.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

We strive to offer luxurious accommodation without effecting our surrounding environment by understanding how we can exist with our environment rather than working against it.

In light of this we have tried hard to reduce the impact of running our treehouses in a woodland, but in no way diminish the luxurious experience that our guests expect from Treetop Hideaways.

Ways we try to help:

– 100% of our energy purchased is renewable energy sourced from wind farm generation and backed by Ren. Our appliances are energy saving. Our bulbs are low wattage.

– Products used to clean the treehouses are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. We use refillable products where possible. We also have a biodegradable waste system (private treatment plants).

– We provide beautiful, outdoor baths instead of hot tubs eliminating the need for chemicals, electricity and excessive water usage.

-All our treehouses were built from locally sourced wood (where possible) and are extremely well insulated to use the least amount of energy to heat them.

-Our treehouses were built in a way to least disturb the ground beneath them, by using stilts, and to feel as if they have grown and nestled within the woodland.

-We also follow an Ecological guide to protect, embrace and encourage the wildlife. We have added bird boxes, bat boxes, an owl box and bug houses. We have also added some wildflower areas for our bees. We have bird feeders scattered throughout our site and on the terraces of our treehouses.

-Every year we plant some new trees on our site which are indigenous to our woodland and support our birdlife and wildlife. Our landscaping is subtle to respect the beautiful, ancient woodland.

-We recycle as much waste as possible, with the help from our guests. We have separated recyclable bins and have bottle banks. We compost food and use it in tree planting.

-The carbon footprint of sourcing supplies for our treehouses is very important to us. We gather the majority of our supplies from the village. We use a laundry company in Woodhall Spa. We car share when possible. Our welcome hampers are Lincolnshire produce.
